"Oh, no, I did it." Hello, we've used a lot of paint and sagging huge globs of paint created the perfect model once. This is the perfect finish winner're hoping now is a disaster.

All is not lost, however. You can fix just about any paint defect that has been preparing for the competition model only a little work. A careful sanding paint technique, you can create a perfect finish.

The four techniques; resistant paint, re-spray, paint polish and wax, it's doing to fix an error. I'll show you how to use these techniques to record the model and bring it back to the competition floor.

Colour standing in front of the technique will be used to correct and has created more than a spray or orange peel situation of the model. Orange peel only extra paint that is applied thickly, and finally to the surface of the models looked like on the outside, like an orange. The easiest way I've found to correct this kind of situation can only use sandpaper to sand off the extra paint. The hardest part of this is to ensure that no detail out of the surface of the model.

There are many different grades of sandpaper or grits. Basically divided into two types of sandpaper, coarse and fine. Coarse sandpaper grit number is from 100 to 1000. The lower the number, the more, of course. A large number of paint removal was typically 320. Fine sandpaper runs from 2000's 12,000. This grit is a secret to getting a perfect finish.

sandpaper come from different backgrounds. Instead, over the cheaper cloth wallpaper with paper backing, because usually I just wet sanding technique. The wet grinding, where water use can help lubricate the surface of the model, and generally works better in my model paints.

The first task is to let the paint dry completely error. Then start removing the uneven paint coarse grinding to be very careful not to sand any plastic model in detail. Cut the sandpaper very small pieces and keep them, or attach them to wooden "tools" that small space. They also use thinner to soften the paint buildings surrounded by extensive areas, keeping in mind that I do not want to ruin the plastic.

When this is done, re-spray paint the damaged area.

this process of re-sanding and spraying until you are satisfied with the finish. At this stage, it is ready to fine sand the paint.

Fine grinding is indeed the real secret to a perfect finish. I work in the paint by sanding the paint to help these grits.

a sandpaper I love going to use the assistance of foam so that it conforms to the surface of the model easier. Each step uses wet grinding technology with water. Change your sanding strokes in different directions and do not use a lot of pressure. At the end of the sequence of paint by sanding the surface of the model should be very smooth and responsive. This will take us to the next step, which is to polish the paint.

lacquer paint on these secret that near-perfect paint winner of the competition model. Rather Novus plastic paint and varnish. I work in the paint using a mirror fine No. 3, 2 and No.1 in order. This sets you up to the final step, which is the wax.

Wax protection is the last step, and creating a model winning the race finish.

I use Meguiar Mirror Glaze # 26 professional high-tech yellow wax. You can find this at any automotive parts store. I apply it with a soft cloth and buff to a showroom finish paint.

Well, there you have it. It's a lot of work, but well worth the effort. In the end it recorded the pain problem and come out with a model that is full of competition and winning showroom finish.
